Quill is an editorial design system by Craftwell, published as a self-hosted shadcn registry. Its look is warm and low-contrast: paper-toned backgrounds with a fine grain, ink-colored type, Fraunces for display and Raleway for text, a narrow set of accent colors, gentle radii and soft warm shadows, with one italic accent word per headline. Rather than re-copying primitives, Quill ships a theme layer that restyles stock shadcn components across five themes and four accents, plus its own AI pieces such as a prompt composer, model picker, agent steps, citations and approval cards.
Its blocks are composed product screens, including a data table, invoice, order summary, wizard, onboarding flow, activity feed, sidebar navigation, newsletter and contact forms. It targets WCAG 2.1 AA, documents every component in Storybook, and ships an agent rules file and an MCP server.
